The Old Alfer
I must say that Alf is one of the most inspiring people I have ever met (by met I mean have watched his every waking moment). When he can't get to sleep, he doesn't despair, he just puts a box on his head and rocks back and forth beeping. When other people are stressed or unsure, he helps them to slap on a steak and let their hair down. When the weather is insane (raining cats and dogs), he embraces it by opening the skylight and getting some relish. When a woman is self-conscious about her appearance, he simply shows his face in the bathroom window. And anytime he wants a solution, he eats--everything from pies on porches to cold cream. The world would be a better place if everyone viewed life like Alf does, but then again the world might also be broken and destroyed in a nuclear holocaust :)

In Life She Was My Partner
Movies, books, songs, pictures, and many other means have depicted the pure love of friendships. People do come into our lives for a reason. Each person who shares a few steps on our road of life gives something to us, as well as takes something with them.
Kristen is in a realm all to herself. I believe that in a pre-earth-life state, Kristen and I studied and learned the Gospel together. We laughed and talked with our other Brothers and Sisters. I could see us frolicking in our Father's many glorious creations. As our preparations for our test drew to a close, I'm sure that a loving Father drew each of us aside and describe our missions, and told us that we must cling to each other if we wanted to come back.
I can see through countless experiences, that our spirits have grown very close to each other. I think that our spirits rejoice when we stay focused on the Lord, and weep when we look towards darkness. But through the thick and the thin this life has been beautiful because of Kristen.
Once we have finished all we were sent here to do, we will be greeted by our cherished older Brother's embrace.
Kristen I love your guts!
Have I told you recently?

For those moments, when life is too hard to stand, so you kneel
Fix You lyrics
Songwriters: Berryman, Guy; Buckland, Jon; Champion, Will; Martin, Chris;
When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
Tears stream down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face
And I
Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face
And I
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Warning
Dear Dennis Brain,Only a day latter, I received this lovely, uplifting message
Warning
I think it only fair to warn you that your lynching is imminent. Please also remember that lynching is much worse than a mere hanging.
If your brain is bogged down in a land devoid of ideas let me proffer the suggestion that you post about something hyst.
Sincerely yours,
Charlotte Bronte
All I can say is at least she referred to me as Dennis Brain.

Interpreters

I was sitting in Abravenel Hall, richly coated in the music of Saint Seans, and Beethoven, when the thought hit me that music, (classical that is) is the one thing that remains universal. We don't hear music in french or dutch. I think that is why it is so unearthly, in a good way :)
I was also thinking how grateful I am for the great musicians and composers how so often sacrificed their sanity, or any chance at a normal life to understand how to "speak universally."
